Alan Deffenderfer from ABD Enterprises in Churchville Maryland will join us remotely for a session he presented at the recent Pause on Error FileMaker unconference.
Every FileMaker shop, both large and sole proprietors, need project management processes in place to keep projects on target, clients happy and your work about building value for you and your clients and NOT putting out fires.
He will provide a hands-on walk through an Agile/Scrum informed project management process that is tailored to FIleMaker development. He will share my experiences working for a FileMaker Platinum that helped introduce Agile to the FileMaker community, my experience implementing FileMaker and Scrum at the US Department of Defense and his recent experience over that last year of using Agile/Scrum as a solo developer building solutions for mom and pops. He will also demo the FileMaker application I use for project management.
If you don’t have solid processes in place to create proposals, track requirements, deal with changes, create budget reports, facilitate client meetings, etc. then this session is for you. We will look at specific examples of Agile/Scrum informed processes, documents and techniques that help manage, and hopefully mitigate, the risks inherent in FileMaker project work.
This session will be valuable even if you already have these processes in place and would like to hear more about Agile/Scrum or just share your own insights on tracking the “business” side of FileMaker development.
